Tim Davis is an artist, essayist, and songwriter based in Tivoli, New York. Davis is a Joseph H. Hazen Rome Prize recipient. He received an MFA from Yale University and a BA from Bard College, where he is currently an Assoc. Professor of Photography. His solo exhibition When We Are Dancing (I Get Ideas) (2018-19) was on view at the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, New York, in 2018-19.
His work is the subject of six monographs including "Quinto Quarto," "The New Antiquity," "Permanent Collection," and "My Life in Politics". His works are in the permanent collections of institutions including The Guggenheim Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Whitney Museum of American Art, and The Walker Art Center among others. Davis is a regular contributor to Aperture and Cabinet magazines, and his album, "It’s OK to Hate Yourself," (2019) is available on vinyl.
