Eleanor Antin in "I'm Not a Nice Girl!" at Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen, Düsseldorf

January 18 - May 17, 2020

Gallery artist Eleanor Antin is included in "I'm Not a Nice Girl!,"  an exhibition at Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen in the K21 (Ständehaus) in Düsseldorf, Germany.

This group show presents four women artists -- Eleanor Antin, Lee Lozano, Adrian Piper and Mierle Laderman Ukeles -- who contributed to the first flourishing of conceptual art in the late 1960s and early ’70s, and draws on the archives of Dorothee and Konrad Fischer, the German art dealers who played a major role in promoting the work of (mostly male) conceptual artists. Correspondence with the Fischers, along with works from the past five decades by these four women, reveal how these artists consistently fought to make their voices heard – while developing their own innovative, socially engaged approaches to conceptualism.
