Eleanor Antin in "Maternality" at Richard Saltoun Gallery, UK

January 10 - February 15, 2020

Gallery artist Eleanor Antin is included in ‘Maternality’ at Richard Saltoun Gallery, London.

The second installment of the two-part show on maternal politics and embodiment, the exhibition focuses on reproduction and the materiality of maternal bodies.  Curated by Catherine McCormack, the exhibition finds its starting point in the etymological root of the word “mother” as synonymous of matter (mater/materia in Latin) in a group show exploring female reproductive bodies in terms of material relations, both physical and political.  Eleanor Antin will show Who are we? Where are we going?, a large photograph from Roman Allegories (2004).

Other artists include Aimee Gilmore, Helen Chadwick, Carmen Winant, Robyn Leroy-Evans, Liv Pennigton, Annegret Soltau, Judy Chicago, Kirsten Justesen, Helen Benigson, and The Hackney Flashers.
