Diane Rosenstein Gallery is pleased to announce a conversation between curator Michael Slenske and Signal To Noise artists Pui Tiffany Chow, Sean McGaughey and Jean Nagai.
This event is the second in a series of public programs at Diane Rosenstein Gallery throughout the run of the exhibition. Curator Dialogues II is free and open to the public at 831 N. Highland Avenue in Hollywood.

Michael Slenske is a Los Angeles-based writer, editor and curator. He has curated group shows at Wilding Cran Gallery; The Landing Gallery; domicile (n.) gallery, and Praz-Delavallade as well as solo shows for Aryo Toh Djojo, Charles Arnoldi, Emily Marchand, Fawn Rogers, Hely Omar Gonzalez, and Martin Nuñez. He is the founder of The Street & The Shop, an artist-driven pop-up, which has been staged at Tin Flats, the Bradbury Building, and the Paramount Backlot as part of Frieze LA.
Pui Tiffany Chow (Hong Kong, b. 1987) is an artist and educator who immigrated from Hong Kong and now lives and works in Los Angeles. Through pointed art historical references, Chow’s paintings examine the female form and the capacity for the canvas to stage them. Chow received a solo exhibition at Parker Gallery, Los Angeles (2022) and has participated in selected group shows including those at Shrine, Los Angeles (2023); Torrance Art Museum (2023); Galerie Anne Barrault, Paris (2022); Chan Gallery at Pomona College, Claremont (2022); One Trick Pony, Los Angeles (2021); and the Riverside Art Museum, Riverside (2019).
Sean P. McGaughey (USA, b. 1974) is a painter who lives and works in Los Angeles, CA. He received his BFA from ArtCenter College of Design (2006). McGaughey’s immersive abstract paintings combine inspiration and influences from Abstract Expressionism, music and Nichiren Buddhism. Currently his solo exhibition, Good Grief, is with Mindy Solomon Gallery in Miami; and he was recently included in Wish: Carte Blanch x Natalie Baume, at Almine Rech (2024).
Jean Isamu Nagai (USA, b.1979) is a Japanese American painter based in Los Angeles. He completed his studies at The Evergreen State College, Olympia, WA (BA, 2004). Nagai has received solo exhibitions at Sow & Tailor, Los Angeles, (2023); Over The Influence, Los Angeles (2023); Chins Gallery, Bangkok (2019); Pt. 2 Gallery, Oakland (2019); Portland State University, Portland (2017); Salon Refu, Olympia (2015); Las Cruxes, Austin (2014). He has participated in group exhibitions at Wing Luke Museum, Seattle (2022); The Hole, Los Angeles and New York (2022, 2020); Kellogg Doolittle House, Joshua Tree (2021); SOIL Gallery, Seattle (2020); and Spring Break Art Show, New York (2018).
