Marty Schnapf: Phosphors
Diane Rosenstein Gallery presents Phosphors, a solo exhibition of paintings and drawings by Marty Schnapf. Schnapf’s works illuminate the implicit relationship between the materiality of painting and its ability to express non-material states. Juxtaposed with familiar settings, figures envelop each other in fractured and improbable positions, where limbs disappear and features emerge with vibrant color and texture. For his second solo exhibition with the gallery, Schnapf explores the mercurial interplay between the physical and psychological dimensions of human connection and independence.
